Q : How often should I Backup my computer

A : If you do not have a backup, you risk loosing everything.

Therefore Backup your data as often as you think is the minimum amount of data you can afford to lose.

Regular data backups are essential to protecting your important data from hardware failures. Sometimes, computer components will fail without notice.

The most likely component to fail that will cause you data loss is your Hard Disk Drive. By running Check Disk regularly you are more liable to detect early an imminent failure.

A common method of back up is to portable hard disk connected via USB. Often these units come with backup programs that can be scheduled to run as required, though a good generic backup system is often supplied with your operating system.
